It came like a rushing wind. A flood of memories at the center of them a 30 year old table.
So old and rickety and yet hard to replace.
The times that pumpkins were carved on it.
The times we made Christmas cookies.
The times we made ranchero sauce for Mexican breakfast.
The time we made room for two more boys around it.
The times with friends when isolation brought us together to tend to our loneliness.
Then full circle as we add to the family and little ones bring a spark of hope.
As we relive our memories sharing one generation to another.
La Mesa holding culture love and family. A reminder that we belong.
So grateful to you for holding us together.
I thought you were lost only to find you tucked in my heart.
